Codex skills

Codex skills belong in ~/.codex/skills. Codex already ships $skill-installer for its curated set. This page adds the community catalog: skills other people filed that $skill-installer does not index. You register myagents with codex mcp add, then pull a slug.

Use a named listing when you want a filed procedure, not a one-shot prompt. After the write, open a new Codex thread and mention the task. If the skill stays dark, list ~/.codex/skills and check that SKILL.md is nested under the slug folder.

Skill format: Codex docs.

How to install a Codex skill

  1. Run the panel's codex mcp add line. That registers myagents for the next Codex session.
  2. Tell Codex this slug is from myagents, not from $skill-installer. Ask it to call install_skill with that slug.
  3. Read the tool output. Say yes only when the path is ~/.codex/skills/<slug>/SKILL.md.

List ~/.codex/skills/<slug>. SKILL.md sits one level down. Agents land in ~/.codex/agents/<slug>.md. /skills in Codex should show the name after a new session.

mkdir -p ~/.codex/skills/<slug> and write SKILL.md by hand, then start a new Codex session. Include name and description in the frontmatter or Codex will ignore the folder.

Codex reaches myagents after mcp add. The six skills below are this catalog's install leaders, outside the $skill-installer set.

Codex agent files sit in ~/.codex/agents. The same MCP connection that writes skills writes those roles via install_agent.

A popular card is still a community listing. Codex skills from the grid install through myagents; do not expect $skill-installer to know those slugs.
